Man caught trespassing

CEBU, Philippines - A 35-year-old man was arrested for "trespass to dwelling" after he was caught by a house owner in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City.

Randy Legaspi, of Calbayog City in Samar, temporarily residing in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City, was arrested by a team led by SPO1 Dale Cincoflores after Romeo Tuñacao, the house owner caught him inside his house at around 6 a.m. yesterday.

Police believed that Legaspi hid inside the residence of Tuñacao after he allegedly succeeded in robbing a woman who was about to go to work.

Julie Mae Navasca, 22, went straight to the Pusok Police Station to report that while she was on her way from her duty at Mactan Export Processing Zone at around 5:30 last Thursday, she was robbed by an unidentified suspect by poking a knife on her and announcing the hold-up.

The man succeeded in taking away her bag which contained her cellular phone and other personal belongings.

Police then showed Legaspi to the victim who positively identified him as the one who took her shoulder bag.

The suspect is currently detained at the Pusok Police Station pending the filing of appropriate charges against him. (FREEMAN)
