CEBU, Philippines - Tired of operating it manually, the Talisay City government will try to fix its traffic lights system again with the help of the Cebu City Traffic Operation Management (CITOM) this time.
With a working automatic system, traffic personnel who operate the system manually can be used elsewhere, Vice Mayor Romeo Villarante said.
Villarante said CITOM, headed by operation manager Joy Tumulak, can help because it has people who know how to make the lights work again.
Villarante, who is also the chairman of City of Talisay-Traffic Operation Development Authority (CT-TODA), said the employee who knew how to fix the traffic lights system had left city hall for good.
Villarante said the city has no money to buy a new system which costs P14 million.
The system is dated and so spare parts are so hard to come by. (FREEMAN)
