CEBU, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher was arrested by the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 in a buy-bust operation right after the heavy rains yesterday afternoon in barangay Pasil, Cebu City.
The subject of the operation, Lovely Quirante, 25, eluded the arrest right after the transaction was consummated.
Agents arrested instead Lovely’s brother, Roxan, 27, who served as look out.
Roxan was also involved in the illegal drugs trade as cohort of his sister.
Confiscated from Roxan were three packets of shabu. Pieces of evidence were taken to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory-7 in Camp Sotero Cabahug for chemical analysis.
Jessie Tabanao, PDEA spokesman, said agents began to watch Quirante following complaints regarding her illegal activity.
When confirmed, a plan to arrest Quirante was hatched.
A covert agent and an informant made the transaction at Quirante’s house through the window.
Tabanao said the agent used P5,000 as marked money in exchange for shabu.
But Quirante escaped through a narrow road.
“Squatter area man gud ang lugar dali ra kaayo nawala basin nisulod to ug balay,†Tabanao said in a phone interview.
Roxan also tried to escape but an agent got hold of him.
When frisked, agent found three packets of shabu from Roxan. (FREEMAN)
