CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City fire marshall Ronaldo Orbeta has urged parents to show their children to places where it is safe to fly kites now that the dry season is here.
Orbeta said he always urges parents to allow their children to fly their kites in open areas to avoid starting fires.
He said it is ideal to play kites near shores which are away from electric wires and posts.
He said when it rains kites strings get wet and may possibly cause fires if these hit electric wires.
“Apil na sa among information dissemination ning mga tabanog, apan wa may mga bata nga motambong ani, busa ang mga parents na lang untay mosulti sa ilang mga anak,†Orbeta said. (FREEMAN)
