Residents from islets in Bohol join Olango livelihood program

CEBU, Philippines - Olango Island, through the Lapu-Lapu City government, also accommodates residents from islets in Bohol in its livelihood training program.

Jimmy Glomar, head of the Lapu-Lapu City Cooperative and Livelihood Resource Center, said most of these residents have relatives in Olango Island.

Glomar said a number of housewives from the islets have asked to be trained.

He said the housewives were welcomed with open arms.

“Tinguha nato mao ra man gyud nga makatabang sa atong isig ka tawo mao nga ato gihapon sila nga gidawat aron mapaubos sa training,” Glomar said.

Glomar said most of the women undergoing training are presently employed in companies inside the Mactan Export Zone.

Glomar also said the livelihood resource center conducts seminars to assists members of cooperatives and organizations in Lapu-Lapu City.

The training and seminars aim to guide members in managing cooperatives and other organizations.  (FREEMAN)
