CEBU, Philippines - The repair of dilapidated roads in four barangays in Lapu-Lapu City will be given immediate priority early next year, Mayor Paz Radaza assured yesterday.
Radaza made the assurance following the complaints raised by motorists and tricycle drivers that often use the roads in Barangays Pajac, Agus, Basak and Maribago.
Radaza said the City Council has already approved a budget for the repair of the roads and that she has already directed the city engineering office to begin work next year.
The Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD) has reportedly allocated funds for the repair of the roads in Barangay Pajac because diggings undertaken by the contractor hired by the water district has greatly contributed to the destruction.
“Gimanduan na nato ang engineering department nga sunod tuig kini maoy ilang hatagan sa dinalian nga pagtagad,” Radaza said.
Radaza admitted that she received a number of complaints raised from residents in the four barangays, as well as from tourists. –/JMO (FREEMAN)
