CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City police chief Superintendent Eddie Recamara will remain at his post for the meantime, although he was ready to pack his bags yesterday.
This was confirmed by Recamara who said his stay would be extended since there are still adjustments to be made by the Police Regional Office-7.
“Dili man sab na basta-basta mohawa ka dayon, naa pa man adjustment. Pero it’s confirmed nga ma-extend pa ko kadali diri sa Talisay,” he said.
Serving as Talisay City chief for two-years now, Recamara faces a 15-day suspension after he was found guilty in an administrative case.
The case stems from an administrative case filed by Danao City Prosecutor Jose Kyamko for conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
Recamara was accused of fabricating evidence against an illegal drug suspect when he was the Danao City police chief.
Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, chief of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas, deferred Recamara’s suspension given that he is involved in the security preparations for the Thanksgiving Mass for San Pedro Calungsod.
Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez said he hopes the substitution for Recamara can maintain peace and order.
Fernandez had said he is impressed with the man’s performance.
Fernandez, however, is still waiting for a list of names he can choose from for Recamara’s replacement.
The mayor said the man did everything to reduce the crime rate in the city. (FREEMAN)
