CEBU, Philippines - A 41-year-old man was shot dead while talking with his friends in barangay Pilipog, Cordova at 1:00 in the afternoon yesterday. His assailant remains unidentified.
Ruben Baguio, of legal age, was standing when the gunman shot him once on the chest, the bullet exiting to his right armpit. He was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
SPO1 Laurencio Wagwag, of the Cordova Police Station, said Baguio was with three friends when the assailant asked for his name.
Wagwag said as his friends pointed at Baguio, the assailant shot him once in the chest.
“Nangutana lang kuno ug kinsa si Ruben pagtudlo sa iyang mga kauban gipusil dayon,” Wagwag said in a phone interview.
Police recovered one empty shell of caliber .45 in the scene.
Police are working with witnesses. (FREEMAN)
