CEBU, Philippines — The Dynamic Herb Cebu FC Gentle Giants will play host to Loyola FC as the Philippine Football League (PFL) 2024 season kicks off today at the Dynamic Herb Borromeo Sports Complex in Sourth Road Properties.

Game time is set at 5 p.m.

The Gentle Giants led by Turkish head coach Memis Ozata will parade a merry mix of old and new booters.

Skipper Baris Tasci said Cebu FC has kept its core highlighted by the return of Yoji Elliot Selman to its fold.

Three Cebuanos are in the lineup namely Erich Rafael Orale, Glen Thomas Ramos, and Kamil Jaser Amirol.

They will see action alongside The Netherlands’ Yusuf Çekiç, Rhino Manuel Nicolas Goutier, Zamoranho Carliho Leandro Ho-atham, and Guytho Marcus Renwick Mijland, Senegal’s Abou Mouhamed Sy, and Turkey’s Devrim Ali Yanik.

Tasci said they are all excited to showcase their wares with a team that is better than ever under the mentorship Ozata, a former pro turned coach.

More to it, Ozata can communicate well with the team without any interpreter as he is fluent in English.

Ozata promised to help his players achieve their full potential and at the same time give the Cebuano fans a “pretty good game” in return for the warm welcome he received.

No less than Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama took the time out to wish Ozaga and the rest of Cebu FC all the best ahead of their season-opening assignment.
