CEBU, Philippines — A total of 11 teams will battle it out for hardcourt supremacy in the Centurion Basketball Tournament 2023, which kicked off last Saturday, August 19, at the BRIGHT Academy gym in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City. The rest of the games though will be played at the San Isidro Parish School (SIPS) gym in Talamban.
The title contenders in the seniors division are the Admin, Headguards Club, D’Legends, Gladiators, and Masters.
Vying for the crown in the juniors category are the Elite, Selections, Shooters, Fighters, Defenders, and Spotters.
Trophies and cash prizes will be given away to the winners in both divisions.
The management of Centurion Security Agency, Inc. led by its president and general manager Atty. Michelle Mendez-Palmares organized the tournament as part of Centurion’s 58th anniversary celebration.
Mendez-Palmares, an ex-officio director of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Cebu City Chapter as its immediate past president, is currently the Deputy Governor of IBP Eastern Visayas Region.
Her sister Jasmin Mendez-Pages,the wife of Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) chairman John Pages, will serve as the league commissioner. — EBV
