CEBU, Philippines — The undefeated Lodi Pitmalu and RCBC Gamsi cruised to their fourth straight win in the 30-above division of Amicis Basketball League (ABL) Season 3 at the Cansaga gym in Consolacion.
Jhon Paul Dugeneo erupted for 31 points while Peter Tejeno added 20 points to help Lodi Pitmalu escape past A2E Cargo Logistics, 83-81.
Rechie Cesa was the other double-digit scorer with 11 points for Lodi Pitmalu, which stood on its ground against a spirited resistance by A2E Cargo to eke out a two-point triumph.
Jojit Goc-ong, Joed Espinosa, and Tamin Demape combined for 41 points but to no avail as A2E Cargo dropped to 2-3.
On the other hand, Franco Te turned in 19 points while Niko Chaves and Louie Bio conspired for 31 points as RCBC Gamsi edged the Amigos, 96-91.
Down by seven as the break, 45-52, RCBC Gamsi used a decisive second-half show, 51-39, to turn back the Amigos, who crashed to their third loss in four games.
Harold Javier paced the Amigos with 23 points. Jonel Godines scored 21 while Christian Conde had 12 points in a losing effort.
In the other result, Wilmer Paloma sparkled with 36 points as the Prayboys finally barged into the win column with a 108-95 thrashing of Sugbuanon Maharlika.
Mark Monte tallied 28 points while MC Diano chipped in 18 points for the Prayboys, which snapped out of its three-game jinx.
Jeffrey Perater fired 32 points while Razel Mansera and Allan Guilen notched 27 points in between them but their efforts went in vain as Sugbuanon fell to 2-2. — EBV
