CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano chess aficionados will once again test each other's wits through the Barangay Mabolo Annual Fiesta Chess Tournament this Sunday at the Mabolo Elementary School Cultural Center.
The one-day tilt following a 5-round Swiss system format, however, is open only to non-rated or Class B players.
Aside from trophies, the champion will pocket P3,000, while the second and third placers will receive P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
The fourth and fifth will take home P500 each plus medals.
The top kiddie and lady player as well as the top finisher among Mabolo residents will earn P500 apiece.
Registration fee is pegged at P100 for kiddies and ladies and P150 for regular entries.
