CEBU, Philippines - This year’s edition of the All Women's Ultra-Marathon sets a record as slots were sold out in less than 30 minutes.
This is the first time that all the slots were sold out since the marathon’s inception four years ago.
Registration was done online with all 250 filled up. Aside from the Cebuana ultra-marathoners, out-of-town participants also confirmed their participation in the race.
“This is a record for our race," said race organizer Tony Galon of ThinkTank.
More female runners were still hoping to get slots, but organizers are limiting the number of entries for everyone's safety. Last year, there were more entries due to some lapses in accepting entries.
The long-busting race is set to take place on March 12 tentatively at Il Corso at the South Road Properties.
The event which covers 50-kilometers is set to start at 10 p.m. and will officially close 10 hours from the start time.
No pacers or support vehicles are allowed for the ultra-marathoners. (FREEMAN)
