CEBU, Philippines - Paulo Inoc scooped two titles to come out as the biggest winner in the fourth leg of the 2015 MS Motosuit Motocross Series billed as the '1st Mayor Paz Radaza Motocross Cup' over the weekend at the Gaisano Island Mall in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.
Inoc bested the equally-talented Jubenile Abellar to rule the expert category as Jonjon Adlawan settle for third place honors. He then bested the fast-rising BJ Pepito to snare the crown in the intermediate class.
Abellar though still has something to be happy about after he edged out Adlawan to lord it over the pro open division, relegating Inoc to only third place.
The likes of JP Cuesta, Renren Hisoler, Gelo Leonardo and JB Lim caught part of the spotlight.
Cuesta topped the open enduro battle followed by Dongkey Sanchez and Hisoler, the champion in the local enduro. Leonardo was the fastest in the beginners open production, while Lim dominated the novice open production.
It was actually a double celebration for Leonardo as he also reigned supreme in the mini class 85cc after upstaging Hisoler and Pepito.
In the clash of veterans, Paul Pierre Marapao outshone Rolly de la Calzada and Atoy Belican, while the top five finishers in the underbone were Wellie Borces, Jan Allain Cobierros, Jay-r Gualiza, Raymond Alivio and Emok Tarona.
In the ladies action, Badon Kalago clinched the tiara after outsmarting Mariel Villafuerte and RK Cuesta as Tiffany Marapao and Kristine Hisoler completed the top five cast.
Shaun Peralta topped the mini class 65cc that saw Alfonzo Famador, Vinz Kenneth Batulan, Dojie Basco and Ehrmi Terence Codeniera occupying the second to fifth spots.
Famador did not go home empty-handed though as he bagged the champion's trophy in the peewee or mini class 50cc after defeating Tiffany Marapao, Reiver Mathhew Cabras, Niño Basco and Lauren Detaresco.
On the other hand, the top performers in the executive division were Ayen Ledesma (A), Paul Pierre Marapao (B), and Noli Rim (C).
Presented by MS Motosuit through revered businessman/sportsman Lou Ornopia, the one-day race was organized by Barangay Captain Isabelito Darnayla. It was made possible through the support of the city government of Lapu-Lapu under the flagship of Mayor Paz Radaza in association with congresswoman Aileen Radaza. — EBV (FREEMAN)
