CEBU, Philippines - The municipality of Liloan will host a triathlon event dubbed as ‘Tri Liloan’ slated on December 20 in Looc, Poblacion.
No other than Liloan Mayor Duke Frasco led the launching of the event held yesterday at the Politics in Escario Central Mall.
Liloan is known as one of the triathlon hub in Cebu being able to host the Xterra Philippines.This time, local triathletes can continued to hone their skills in the swim-bike-run event.
After several clinics and participation in different events including the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines, Liloan has stepped up further with the staging of their own event.
The Tri Liloan features a standard distance in both individual and relay events.
Since it’s only the start, the event is limited to 100 individual entries and 20 for the relay.
The individual category will be divided into different age brackets with the male division to have five, while three in the female side.
Male age-bracket include the 29-under, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49 and 50 and above division while the distaff has 29 under, 30-39 and 40-above.
The relay event will be open to a two or three-man team of any gender. Aside from the age-brackets, organizers will also declare the top three individuals for both the male and female division.
Over P80,000 in cash prize is at stake for the top finishers. Registration opens on October 26 until December 11.
Entry fee is pegged at P3000 in the individual event and P6000 per team in relay inclusive of finisher’s medal, shirt, post-race meal, race bib, helmet and bike number.
