CEBU, Philippines - Secondary boys defending champion University of San Carlos made it two wins in a row in this years's Cebu Schools Athletic Federation, Inc. volleyball event at the University of San Jose-Recoletos Basak Campus gym.
After beating the University of Southern Philippines Foundation in the opening day, the USC boys came up with a 25-8, 25-15 thrashing of Don Bosco Technology Center to take the temporary lead.
Don Bocso fell to 0-2, while USPF managed to barge into the win column at the expense of the hard-fighting USJ-R, 25-23, 25-21.
In the girls division, the USC volleybelles readily bounced back from their heart-breaking setback to Southwestern University with a two-set whacking of USPF, 25-21, 25-11.
In secondary football played at the Cebu City Sports Center, USC kicked off its title campaign with a 1-0 win over USPF, while defending champion Don Bosco Technology spared no mercy in an 8-0 blowout of the hapless USJ-R side.
Volleyball games continue this afternoon alongside karatedo at USJ-R Basak, while football action as well as the athletics competition resume this morning at CCSC.
Taekwondo, on the other hand, is set to end today at Pacific Mall in Mandaue City. (FREEMAN)
