CEBU, Philippines - Dynamic Power motored to its fifth straight win at the expense of AutoLab, 52-43, in the 20th Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association Cup last Wednesday night at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu old campus gym along General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.
Rodrick Mangubat fired 20 points as Dynamic Power outscored AutoLab in the final half, 28-19, to firm up its grip of Division B lead with an immaculate 5-0 slate.
Carlo Villarica had 19 points and Terence Go nailed a dozen markers but their efforts went for naught as AutoLab absorbed its third loss in five starts.
In the other Division B games, defending champion RDAK Transporters slammed White Gold Club, 58-48, while Caltex Delo upended Filmon Finishing Studio, 52-41.
Cecilio Gillamac and Jose Rey Reoma each scored 11 as RDAK bettered its win-loss record to 3-1, while Chad Cañares and Chris Aldeguer connived for 24 points to power Caltex Delo to its second victory in five games. Both White Gold and Filmon dropped to 1-4.
In Division A, the Cebu Landmasters escaped with a 70-66 decision over Filom Prince Medallion, while Bayfront Hotel Cebu blasted Gaisano Capital, 64-51.
Kyle Valmoria finished with 18 points, Jessieneth Wahing and Daryle Tan banged in 14 points apiece for Cebu Landmasters, which now holds a 3 win-2 loss record. Eduard Cabahug and Elmer Cabahug conspired for 42 points as Bayfront improved to 2-3. (FREEMAN)
