Sultan stops Mancio, Nietes treats hometown fans
CEBU, Philippines – Jonas “Zorro’ Sultan scored the biggest win of his young career when he beat former Philippine light flyweight champion Jerson Mancio by knockout at 2:11 of the fifth round in a fight held at the Murcia Sports and Cultural Center in Negros Occidental.
Sultan now holds a 7-2 win-loss record spiked with 5KOs, while Mancio went down to 18-6-3, with 9KOs.
The bout served as the main event of the ALA-Cobra “Tunay na Lakas” boxing event held in the hometown of WBO light flyweight champion
Donnie “Ahas” Nietes. The lone world champion of the ALA gym also had an exhibition bout for the fans after the fourth fight of the night against up and coming Gerard Suico.
