CEBU, Philippines – It’s green and go for the 2015 San Fernando Enduro Challenge 2015 that gets underway on February 22 at the Plaza Riza in San Fernando, Cebu.
The race features open, beginners and female open. Organizers hope that the race will help San Fernando in promoting their trail site and to discover new talents in the sport of mountainbike racing.
The organizers want to show that San Fernando has nice trails that both beginners and hardcore mountainbikers can enjoy.
Aside from being a prelude event for the town’s cross-country competition this summer, it will also be a kickoff race for The Enduro Network’s series, a nationwide mountainbike race series.
“Because of this, the participants in this event will get points for overall standings in TEN's series,” said Aaron Papas if the organizing San Fernando Trail Riders during the press launching yesterday at the Cebu Mountainbike Adventure Shop and Cafe in Brgy.Guadalupe, this city.
Other legs include Biliran, San Fernando, Camarines Norte and Sur, Albay, Ilocos, Pangasinan, Quezon, Zamboanga, Davao, Iligan, Cagayan de Oro, Tacurong, General Santos, Leyte, Samar and Bohol.
The top performers for the San Fernando Enduro Challenge will receive cash prizes and certificates.
The biggest chunk of prize money will go to the open category, with the champion getting a P4,000. The second and third placers will receive P3,000 and P2000 respectively. All the finishers will also get a specially-designed medal.
