2015 ASEAN M’bike Cup slated January 23 in Danao

CEBU, Philippines – The local mountainbiking community gets to see a much intense battle in the tracks with the Asean Mountainbike Cup 2015 finally getting the Union Cycliste Internationale's sanction following its successful inauguration this year.

The 2015 edition will be a three-part series with the first leg to take place in Danao City on January 23 to 25.The upcoming race is classified under class 3.

Those who will get points though are only the junior and elite divisions both for the men and women's downhill and cross-country races.

Just like the first edition, there will be an overall champion in each class. The second leg in this series is set August 29 and 30 in Sabah,Malaysia, followed by the final leg on October 24 to 25 in Timor Leste.

Danao hosted the inaugural staging of this event last June while the second one was held in Malaysia.

The success of the said event was the basis for UCI's approval for sanction in 2015.

The Asean Cup in Danao features the two most popular events in mountainbike-- downhill and cross-country. (FREEMAN)
