CEBU, Philippines - The FC Barcelona (FCB) Escola Football Camp will stage its Cebu open try-outs and selection date for the underprivileged kids football camp scholarship at 5 p.m. today at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The event is open to children, ages 8 to 14, boys and girls, who are talented, passionate in football and come from underprivileged families.
In the trials, deserving children who will be chosen will be given a football camp scholarship, guaranteeing their slot to participate in the five-day world-class football training of FC Barcelona Escola Football Camp Philippines set on October 26 -30 at the Aboitiz Sport Field in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
A technical committee has been formed to participate in the selection process. It includes Carles Martin of FC Barcelona Escola Asia Pacific, officials from the Cebu Football Association, and some members of the organizing FC Barcelona Escola.
The FC Barcelona Escola Camp Philippines is organized by Team Socceroo, headed by the Reyes brothers Nicholas, Michael, and Paulus, who are committed in the development and growth of Phl football through grassroots programs.

Selected local coaches will also experience and learn the methodology and philosophy of the Barca way. An autographed jersey of Messi with a dedication to Philippines and several autographs of the first team Barca players will also be displayed during the camp.
