ALA-Cobra boxfest goes to Tagbilaran tonight
CEBU, Philippines - ALA Boxing Gym mainstay Juren "Turbo" Labordo (12-1, 8KOs) will headline another edition of ALA-Cobra Energy Drink ‘Tunay na Lakas Boxing’ fightcard against Fernando ‘Batang Bato’ Ocon (12-7, 4KOs) tonight at the Island City Mall in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
In the supporting main event, Labordo’s stablemate Jimmy ‘Popeye’ Paypa will take on journeyman Gadwin Tubigon (10-9-2, 5KOs) in another 10-rounder bout.
Paypa, who is on a 13-fight winning streak, will be tested by Tubigon, who once fought for the vacant WBF International super featherweight title.
In the other feature of the slambang show, Mark ‘Magnifico’ Magsayo (6-0, 4KOs) who try to protect his unblemished record against the more experienced Ernesto Fontanilla (11-5, 5KOs).
The rest of the card features Peter Apolinar vs Jamjam Ungon; Vic Casido vs Albert Muring; James Paul Talaman vs Jovane Abejero; and Ryan Canillas vs Rafael Sueno. (FREEMAN)
