CEBU, Philippines - Roy Carbonera snared two titles in the 9th Camotes Island Cycling Challenge over the weekend in San Francisco, Camotes.
Carbonera outsmarted Philippine Team member John Rene Mier for the top spot in the combined junior-senior division of the road race event as Gino Basirgo took the third place honors.
Still high on his thrilling victory over Mier, Carbonera showed off his expertise in the cross-country discipline with finesse to take home another champion's trophy. He was trailed by Warren Vinan, while Roy's brother Randy settled for third.
Like Carbonera, Ramon Espinosa and Nilo Barbalose also pulled off a twinkill. Espinosa topped the veterans class, with Nilo Barbalose took away the masters crown in both disciplines.
Michael Tiongco ruled the executive division, while Arjay Beato bested Delfin Delfin and Michael Mier to lord it over in the beginners category of the road race. (FREEMAN)
