CEBU, Philippines - After the blockbuster Azkals-Lions showdown, the Cebuanos will witness another international event with the staging of the Pot Bellied Pigs Cebu 10s International Rugby Festival 2012 today at the Cebu International School (CIS).
Rugby football is relatively new in Cebu, but it has alerady produced a good number of national team players in both men and women’s divisions.
Today, the Cebu Dragons will try to get the elusive crown. They placed only third in last year's edition of the tournament won by the Manila Nomads.
Aside from the Cebu Dragons, the Low Flying Dragons will also see action alongside Manila-based squads Alabang Eagles, Manila Hapons, MAAP, and the Vipers.
China is fielding in two teams, while Malaysia has one.
The Lady Dragons, on the other hand, will have a tough mission to carry out against the Seoul Sisters of South Korea and Manila’s Maverick Xena.
The kids are also set to showcase their wares through a touch rugby competition, which drew a total of nine teams in both elementary and secondary categories. (FREEMAN)
