CEBU, Philippines — After four years, a total of 620 families from two barangays in Cebu City finally got some financial assistance from the National Housing Authority.
These families from Barangays Pamutan and Toong were victims of super typhoon Odette back in December 16, 2021.
Each of the affected families received ?10,000 from the NHA through its Emergency Housing Assistance Program according to the city’s PIO.
The financial assistance that was distributed by Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia is meant to help rebuild their homes after the devastation caused by the strongest typhoon to have hit Cebu in recent years.
Odette was classified under category 5 with winds of up to 260 kilometer per hour, it devastated Cebu and other parts of the region.
In December of last year, the NHA also released ?67.45 million in cash assistance distributed to 6,745 families, also victims of super typhoon Odette in Cebu Province.
Earlier last week, Garcia also led the distribution of the city’s financial assistance to 84 fire victims in Sitio Kamansi in Barangay Mambaling.
Owners of totally damaged structures got ?20,000 each while renters or sharers got ?10,000 each, while lodgers claimed ?5,000 each. (CEBU NEWS)
