CEBU, Philippines — Mandaue City Lone District Representative Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano Dizon led the turnover of ?10 million worth of road concreting and drainage projects to Barangays Tawason and Canduman the other day.

In Canduman the project consisted of road concreting with a length of 156 meters and 207-meter drainage worth ?5 million, while in Tawason it was a concreting with a length of 123.5 meters and 123.5-meter drainage facility worth another ?5 million.

Dizon said that these projects will help address the accessibility and flooding problems in the area.

“Ato ning gihimo kay nisaad man gud ko sa mga molopyo sa maong mga barangay para pag-mitigate sa pagbaha sa ilang lugar and at the same time mamaayo na g’yud ang ilang karsada,” she said

She said that she requested the Department of Public Works and Highways to use any possible method to reduce or prevent the detrimental effects of floodwaters in the two barangays.

“Ma-minimize na pud ang flooding kay ato g’yud nga gipaniguro nga apil sa construction ang drainage system facilities,” she added.

The new road will provide a smooth and safe driving surface for users, while the drainage system will prevent water accumulation and ensure proper runoff. — (FREEMAN)
