BOC-Port of Cebu hits revenue target anew

CEBU, Philippines — For three consecutive months, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu has exceeded its revenue collection target after posting over P12-million surplus for the month of June.

The BOC-Port of Cebu reported a total of P3,922,005,092.95 revenue collection in June, which is higher by P12,505,092.95 compared to its P3,909,460,000 target.

Cebu District Collector Romeo Allan Rosales said that the exemplary performance of his collection district is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of his team.

Under Rosales’ command are the Port of Cebu, Sub-Ports of Dumaguete, Mactan, and Bohol.

“This success is a clear reflection of the dedication and hard work of its men and women, their unwavering commitment to excellence and integrity, and continuous strive for greater effectiveness in ensuring the Port's positive contribution to the nation's economic growth,” the BOC-Port of Cebu posted on its Facebook page.

For 2024, BOC-District 7 has a total target collection of P45.970 billion wherein the Port of Cebu has an annual target of P37.5 billion; Port of Dumaguete with an annual target of P7.1 billion; and the sub-port of Mactan has an annual target of P1.2 billion.

The consecutive feats of the Port of Cebu in hitting its revenue collection targets underscore the importance of teamwork and dedication.

The Port of Cebu said that it remains committed to furthering its efforts to meet and exceed targets, ensuring that it contributes significantly to the national coffer and looks forward to continuing this trend of excellence which reinforces its role in the country's economic development in line with the 5-Point Priority Programs of BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio.

The BOC five priority programs include digitalize Customs processes; hit and surpass the target; simplify procedures and facilitate secure trade; curb smuggling in all forms; and uplift employee welfare and development.

Rubio earlier said that the five-point priority program is the testament of their commitment to improving efficiency, upgrading systems and processes, and promoting integrity and professionalism in the BOC. –/FPL (FREEMAN)
