CEBU, Philippines — More than one kilogram of suspected shabu valued at over ?7 million was seized by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Mabolo Police Station led by Police Major Romeo Caacoy Jr. during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Sindulan, Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, past 12:47 a.m. yesterday.

Police also arrested Jinkee Villa Lawas, alias "Baldo," 47, a jeepney driver, and a resident of the area. He is considered a regional high-value individual.

According to Caacoy, they placed the suspect under surveillance after receiving information regarding his illegal activities. They found out after two weeks that he can sell up to a kilo of shabu weekly.

His alleged area of operation was not just Cebu City but also the nearby cities and the northern part of Cebu.

The suspect, who will be temporarily detained at the Mabolo Police Station to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, allegedly said he sourced his drugs from someone in prison. — (FREEMAN)
