Cebu City markets earn more for January-February 2024

CEBU, Philippines —  More income was generated in public markets in Cebu City for the first two months of 2024 as against the same period of last year, the Cebu City Office of the City Markets (OCM) reported.

So far, the OCM reported earning ?23,728,483.79 in gross income for the first two months.

In 2023, the said office noted ?22,932,417.97 in total income from the public markets here.

The collected amount was from the likes of Carbon Market units 1 to 3, Freedom Park, and Warwick Barracks. Aside from that, there are also earnings from the nearby Pasil Market, Taboan, as well as the markets in T. Padilla, Pardo, and the Ramos Market.

The OCM noted an improvement of close to ?800,000 in earnings between January and February of this year and that of the same period of time last year.

Market administrator Robert Barquilla said he is happy to note this development and looks forward to further improving the public markets here for the benefit of the Cebuanos.

Since being designated as market administrator, Barquilla has been going out of his way to improve the public markets here via public private partnerships in line with the director of Mayor Michael Rama. (CEBU NEWS)
