Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The municipal government of Cordova recently opened and blessed the “Coffee with a Cop” at Cordova Municipal Police Station (MPS).

According to the town’s official Facebook page, the “Coffee with A Cop” is a concept wherein all those having transaction at the MPS will have a free brewed coffee while waiting.

This joint project is initiated by the municipal government through the leadership of Mayor Cesar Suan and Cordova Police Station Chief, Police Major Michael Gingoyon.

“Indeed, the key to effective policing is when a real partnership exists among the local government, the police and the community.  And we are fortunate to work hand-in-hand with such a selfless and giving leader like you sir,” said Gingoyon to the mayor.

The neophyte mayor also expressed his thanks to Cordova MPS, who initiated the project and assured that the municipal government fully supports the town’s police force.

“We hope that the coffee hut will serve as a symbol of hope, unity, and positivity in our community, and that it will help to foster stronger bonds between the PNP and our people of Cordova,” added Gingoyon.

Aside from the free coffee, the municipal government has also provided snacks to the public transacting at the municipal hall since last year when Suan assumed office.

“Only in Cordova ra ni ha ug ato kining gibuhat para makuha-kuhaan ang kagutom sa mga taga Cordova apil na ang mga kasikbit nga mga lugar samtang sila nagpaabot nga mahuman sa ilang tuyo sa munisipyo,” the PIO said.

“Service with a smile man unta ang paboritong linya ni Mayor Suan. Pero karon murag service with a snack naman. Unsa kahay sunod ani sa?” the PIO added. — (FREEMAN)
