Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Amidst the rising cost of fuel, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan announced Tuesday that they will be offering free rides to the city’s constituents.

The mayor in his Facebook post said that due to the rising cost of fuel, some of his constituents opted to remain at home and even chose to forego even important matter and that there are public utility vehicles that are forced to stop plying their routes.

Chan said that the Libreng Sakay is open for every Oponganon to ride.

Atangi sa mga kadalanan kining atong Libreng Sakay nga buses,” the mayor further said.

Mark Anthony Bautista, head of the City Information Office, said the city government has five coaster units but for now only three will be used for the Libreng Sakay.

“Ang remaining 2 buses gigamit sa maghatud sa lubong or namatyan nga mo request for assistance nga masakyan,” Bautista added. — GMR (FREEMAN)
