Santa Fe LGU sets rules for Lenten visitors

The Santa Fe Tourism Guidelines for Holy Week which was posted on the local government unit’s Facebook page has set several requirements not just for the tourists but also to its residents.

CEBU, Philippines —  The municipal government of Santa Fe in Bantayan Island has set guidelines for those who are coming to the island this Lent season.

There is also a set of guidelines for the accredited accommodation establishments (AE) in the town.

The purpose of the guidelines is to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease as well as the monitoring and management of carrying capacity.

For the AE, only those who have been given Mayor’s Permit are allowed to accept tourists.

The guidelines stated that there will be no QR pass of arriving guests and will delay entry. The establishment must also implement no ID no entry and no medical certificate no entry for tourists from other provinces.

There should also service vehicles of AEs to pick up guests at designated points but for those that have no service vehicles, have their guests get transport at queued tri-motor.

“All events and activities must be approved by the LCE or his authorized representative. Scan QR pass (both LGU and Province),” the guidelines read.

For the tourists within Cebu Province including those from the tri-cities, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and Cebu City, they must have a paid and confirmed booking on the accredited AE, QR pass issued by the hotel, valid ID and ecological fee upon entry.

While tourists come from other provinces, they must have a medical certificate issued by a reputable doctor seven days prior to the travel date. This is in accordance with the executive order issued by the Cebu provincial government regarding entry of tourists from outside Cebu Province.

Aside from the medical certificate, the same requirements for tourists in Cebu island apply for guests outside Cebu Province.

For the Authorized Person Outside Residence, a company ID and travel order must be complied. While residents of Santa Fe must present ID with address in the town or any proof of residence.

While the non-residents who will stay with their family or relatives in Santa Fe they must have a “letter request from the homeowner with a photocopy of ID attached to indicating names of family, location, inclusive dates and names list of guests, to be submitted to port of entry operations.”

There must be a QR pass issued by the tourism office, valid ID, round trip shipping ticket and ecological fee.

“All arriving passengers must pass the port entry screening,” the guideline reads.

Santa Fe which offers pristine beaches is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Cebu Province during Holy Week.

Tourism in the province has already been opened since last year after the Province gained the most eased quarantine restriction. — GMR (FREEMAN)
