CEBU, Philippines —  A member of the Durano clan in Danao City and four other barangay officials have shifted allegiance to Fifth District Rep. Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco.

Barangay Captain Telesforo Durano, of the mountain Barangay Dungga in Danao City, took his oath before Frasco last Saturday. Durano was joined by councilmen Juanita Lawas and Daniel Alerta, and Sangguniang Kabataan chairman Remond Lavador.

The ceremony was witnessed by Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco and Provincial Board Member Andrei “Red” Duterte who joined the congressman in the distribution of relief goods, mask, and tests kits in different parts of the district.

The barangay officials were members of Barug Alang sa Kalambuan ug Demokrasya (Bakud) Party of the Duranos in the district.

“Dugay nang naghandum ang katawhan ug kausaban. Among nakita na sa pagpanerbisyo ni Congressman Frasco, makapanghinaut mi na amo na gyung matagamtaman ang pag-uswag sa among barangay,” Durano said.

Frasco defeated former congressman Ramon “Red” Durano VI in the congressional race, ending the 70 years rule of the Duranos in the fifth district.

In his message, Frasco expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the people of Danao City.

“Sayod ko sa kalisud sa atong mga kaigsuonan dinhi ug mapasalamaton ko sa higayon na makapanerbisyo kanila pamaagi sa mga programa ug proyekto nga makahatag og kahupay sa kalisud, ug basin pa, paglaum sa kinabuhi,” said Frasco.

Since the election of Frasco as district congressman, he has already provided over 2,000 scholarships, opened up and concreted roads in different towns.

He also allocated over P20 million in public funds for medical assistance for constituents admitted in the hospital.  FPL  (FREEMAN)
