San Juan eyed as Mandaue sister city

CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City will establish a partnership with the City of San Juan in areas of social, cultural, economic, educational and political development of the community.

City Councilor Nenita Ceniza-Layese, who sponsored the Resolution No. 82-2016 that was approved by the City Council, expressed optimism that the proposed sisterhood relationship to be forged would open opportunities for both cities.

All the members of the City Council visited the City of San Juan last month.

The councilors signified their intent to establish a sisterhood partnership with the Metro Manila city during a courtesy visit with San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez and Vice Mayor Janella Estrada.

The council resolution was also co-authored by Councilors Demetrio Cortes, Malcolm Sanchez and Nilo Seno.

Layese said that "this sisterhood agreement would certainly establish a better understanding and cooperation between the constituents of the City of Mandaue and the City of San Juan to the end of exchanging delegates, representatives and students to the different programs and best practices of their respective community."
