Woman shot dead inside KTV bar

CEBU, Philippines - A simple merrymaking inside a KTV Bar suddenly turned bloody after a 32-year-old woman was shot in the head by an unidentified gunman in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City Wednesday night.

Elisa De Los Reyes II of Atillo Compound along Tres De Abril Street, Barangay Punta Princesa died on the spot after the bullet entered through the left side of her head and pierced through her neck.

Senior Police Officer 4 Rogelio Cañete, investigator at the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office, said that prior to the incident, De Los Reyes was seen entering the KTV Bar located along A. Lopez Street in Barangay Calamba at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

Cañete said according to witnesses, the victim looked like she was waiting for someone. While waiting, De Los Reyes reportedly joined six people who were drinking and singing at the videoke.

However, minutes later, an unidentified man suddenly entered the KTV bar and went near De Los Reyes.

Without any word, the man allegedly shot the victim once on the head leading to her immediate death.

The gunman then just casually walked out of the bar to his waiting companion on board a motorcycle. The two immediately fled off.

Police recovered one empty shell and a slug of .45 caliber from the crime scene.

Cañete said according to the victim’s brother, the victim has not gone home for a few days and has been staying with her friends, from one house to another.

Cañete said as of now, they are eyeing illegal drugs as the motive of the crime after they received information that the victim used illegal drugs. However, he said they are also considering other angles for the case.

Meanwhile, a man was found dead early morning yesterday with a gunshot wound to his head at Sitio Dita, Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City.

The victim was identified as Elmer Castillon, 36, and based on initial investigation, residents in the area heard a gunshot but did not bother checking it.

However, at around 7:20 a.m., while a resident fetching water from the deep well beside the river, he noticed Castillon lying along the ravine full of blood.
