CEBU, Philippines - Senator Cynthia Villar is leaving it up to the members of the Nationalista Party to decide who among the presidential candidates they will be individually supporting.
“Freezone kami pagdating sa usapan kung sino yung presidente na suportahan ng mga NP members. Nasa sa kanila na yun,” said Villar in a press conference in Cebu.
Villar, NP national director, said some of their governors, vice governors or mayors may have already committed its support to a specific presidential candidate.
“Some of them may commitment. So, mahirap na kung mag-declare pa yung NP baka magkagulo lang,” said Villar, wife of NP chairman and former senator and presidential Manuel “Manny” Villar.
NP has three members seeking the vice presidential post, namely: Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos and Antonio Trillanes.
Cayetano will be the running mate of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, while Marcos will be the running mate of Senator Miriam Santiago. Trillanes will be running independently.
The Villars have earlier stated that it will also be a free zone for NP on who to vote among the three vice presidentiables. — (FREEMAN)
