Over drug money: Three PNP personnel relieved

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Police Office has relieved the two police officials and non-commissioned police officer who are allegedly receiving drug money.

PRO-7 Director, Senior Superintendent Clifford Gairanod, said relieving the three would be the best way for the investigation to run effectively.

He said he wants the three to be assigned at the provincial headquarters while the investigation runs.

Considering that the election ban is now in place, Gairanod said he will ask a formal permission from the Commission on Elections for the relief and reshuffling of the police station chiefs.

Gairanod told reporters yesterday the relief order will become final once the Comelec gives its permission.

The Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Branch and the Provincial Intelligence Branch have been designated to conduct the investigation.

Gairanod said the names of the three PNP personnel appeared in the money forwarding receipts the PIB confiscated from couple Diosdado and Maria Jocelyn Arquillano who were arrested in San Francisco town, Camotes Island last Tuesday.

The PIB operatives found the names of the three when they sifted through the evidence confiscated from the couple like the list of those sent with money to find out their possible suppliers and cohorts.

Gairanod said the names will be disclosed once result of the investigation is ready.

“Di lang sa nato ngan-lan basin makadaot niya, ini’g ka human na lang sa investigation,” Gairanod said. — (FREEMAN)
