Man caught brandishing gun

CEBU, Philippines - A drunk person was arrested Saturday morning in Barangay Cambanay, Danao City for illegal possession of firearm.

The suspect was identified as Jerome Landero, 22, resident of the said barangay. He was caught in possession of a caliber .22 Black Widow magnum revolver with two rounds of ammunition.

Police Officer 3 Arnold Labini, desk officer of Danao City Police Station, said that the suspect was challenging everyone to a fight while brandishing his gun prompting his neighbors to call the police.

Operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics in Danao City were immediately dispatched resulting in the arrest of the suspect.

“Nanghagit man gud ni siya ngadto sir nga nangita og gubot, nagdala og armas,” Labini said.

The suspect, who is now detained at the Danao City Police Station, will be charged today for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Meanwhile, a man was injured after he was stabbed in the chest by a pedicab driver in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City.

Junel Perocho, 32, single, resident of Sitio Mananga 2 in the said barangay, was just standing along the road when the suspect identified only as a certain Juan came and hit him with an iron pipe.

The brother of Juan came to help his brother and stabbed the victim in the chest. Perocho was rushed to Talisay District Hospital while the suspects fled. (FREEMAN)
