4 fall in separate buy-busts in city

CEBU, Philippines - Two suspected drug pushers and two others were arrested by the police in two separate buy-bust operations Monday night in Sitio Baybay 1, Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City.

Police identified the suspects as Laurence Cavada, 35, Rodel Montemayor, both allegedly drug pushers, Lyle Hinay, 30, and Ramil Espadilla, 27.

The first operation was carried out by Toledo City police at past 9 p.m. when Cavada was arrested after handing over a pack of suspected shabu worth P200 to one of the policemen who posed as the buyer.

Three more packs of shabu were reportedly confiscated from Cavada.

In the course of the buy-bust operation, the policemen reportedly saw Hinay and Espadilla in the area and also arrested them.

A pack of shabu was reportedly confiscated each from the two suspects.

One hour later, Toledo City police conducted another buy-bust operation in the same sitio and arrested Montemayor.

Three packs of suspected shabu were also seized from the suspect as well as the P200 buy-bust money.

All suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Toledo City Police Station is being lauded by its mother headquarters for being among the five police stations in the province that are performing well in the campaign against illegal drugs. — (FREEMAN)
