Cops set to file raps versus guard killers

CEBU, Philippines - Criminal complaints for murder are set to be filed tomorrow against the two siblings who shot dead Saturday afternoon a head security officer of a subdivision in Barangay Tulay, Minglanilla.

Chief Inspector Franco Rodolf Oriol, chief of Minglanilla Police Station, said the manhunt operation against Edcel and Elmer Franza also continues. The Franza siblings were tagged in the shooting to death of Charlie Muradas, head security officer of Invincible Armada Security Agency.

The victim was detailed at a subdivision project of Paramount Venture Incorporated in Tulay, Minglanilla where the suspects used to serve as guards.

The suspects together with their father and another sibling were hired as security guards in the development project.

However, the suspects were recently terminated from work following the hiring of the new security agency.

“Naa ni conflict, last month nakahibawo na sila nga putlon sa developer ang sweldo, mga November naay negotiation… part sa negotiation i-remain ang duha ug tangtangon ang duha,” Oriol said.

Oriol believes that the suspects may have vented their frustrations on the victim because the latter allegedly intervened when they had an argument with the human resources officer of the company.

“Nasuko to sila, medyo init pod sila, naa say jealousy kay na-threatened ang panginabuhi. Sa ilang kalagot didto gikuan sa security officer,” Oriol said.

“Sinaligan man pod ni sila anytime sud gawas sa subdivision mga civilian hired security sa wala pa ang security guard. Gigamit pod nila kay maldito pod lagi, aron mabantayan kung naay kawat-kawat sa materiales,” he added.

After shooting the victim, the suspects fled on foot bringing along with them their clothes. A hot pursuit operation was conducted by the police but the suspects were nowhere to be found.  The suspects were allegedly involved in another shooting incident in 2013. They were, how-ever, released from jail after the family of the victim did not file a case.

Oriol said the siblings will face the criminal complaint before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office even if they will not be arrested. (FREEMAN)
