CEBU, Philippines - The Anti-Cyber Crime Group-7 is on the hunt of the ex-boyfriend of a 25-year-old Cebuana overseas Filipino worker who complained the man had been posting her sexy photos online after she broke up with him.

Senior Inspector Michael Vertudazo said the woman’s Facebook accounts had been deleted by Facebook itself and the next step now is to trace the ex-boyfriend.

The woman had alleged the man had hacked her accounts on Facebook and posted there the sexy photos she had sent him privately when they were still together.

“Gahapon sa buntag, gi-check nako sa Facebook kung naa development, cannot be found na man… that means nabasa na sa Facebook law enforcement atong request. Immediately, ila dayon gi-delete,” Vertudazo said.

While the process is tedious, Vertudazo said they have requested Facebook to retain data that may help authorities trace the man’s location.

“The problem is that we cannot get the data that we requested for preservation without undergoing mutual legal assistance treaty in which we have to make a formal letter, submit it to the Department of Justice in Manila and then they will represent our request (to the Facebook company),” he said.

According to the victim, the man had told her he is from Dasmariñas, Cavite and is a soldier assigned at Camp Aguinaldo in Manila. Their relationship reportedly started in November 2014 and they have swapped photos of each other but the guy reportedly never showed his face on video camera. They have not met in person.

The victim said they broke up last month but the man allegedly threatened to humiliate her online.

Vertudazo said they will send a request to Camp Aguinaldo to notify if the name of the ex-boyfriend really existed as part of the Philippine Army.

The person who posted the sexy and nude photos has violated the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act or Republic Act 9995: An Act Defining And Penalizing The Crime Of Photo And Video Voyeurism, Prescribing Penalties Therefore, And For Other Purposes.  (FREEMAN)
