Argao dad Resigns to be with Citom May B. Miasco

CEBU, Philippines - A town councilor has tendered his resignation to be the next Cebu City traffic czar.

Argao Councilor Rey Gealon submitted his resignation last Tuesday. Gealon, a lawyer by profession, is now on his second term as town councilor.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said he will make Gealon as the new executive director of the City Traffic Operations and Management.

Rama said the current executive director, lawyer Rafael Christopher Yap, will be designated as the “overall traffic management czar” in preparation for the renaming of Citom into Cebu City Traffic Management.

“Naa pay alegrahon… I wish humana. I am already considering him with the team. But I wish in his part, naa siya’y buhaton aron dili ma-complicate,” Rama said yesterday.

Gealon said he is still waiting for the Municipal Council of Argao to pass a resolution accepting his resignation.

“I have already received confirmation from my colleagues in the Sangguniang Bayan in Argao that they have received and they accepted with regret my resignation and that a resolution to that effect adopting my resignation will be forwarded to the proper agencies,” he said.

Gealon expressed gratitude to his constituents in Argao town for giving their trust and confidence as he garnered the second highest number of votes during the last elections.

“I believe this is the proper time for me to venture into another field of public service which I believe is I am capable, and considering that there is a big challenge before me will enhance my potential, my capabilities in management  and I can grow professionally and personally as well,” he added. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
