CEBU, Philippines - The operation at an alleged drug den in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City was the second time conducted in less than three months, the National Bureau of Investigation said.NBI Regional Director Max Salvador said last Sunday’s operation was not the first time his men raided the abandoned house. Last October 23, a buy-bust operation there also led to the arrest of one Michael Padillo, an alleged pusher, and nine other men. At that time, the NBI agents confiscated 243 sachets of suspected shabu.
Salvador said they have kept the place under their radar since then until they found out that it resumed operations.
On Sunday, a team led by agent Edgar Baldemos arrested 24 people, including Mark dela Cruz, with whom the poseur buyer transacted a supposed sale. The agents recovered a big pack of suspected shabu and 29 small packs of suspected shabu, drugs paraphernalia and a 9mm pistol with several bullets.
Salvador is facing charges for selling dangerous drugs and, if found positive of drug use, will be facing a separate charge for visiting a drug den. (FREEMAN)
