Four town workers undergo polygraph test by NBI

CEBU, Philippines - Four out of the twelve employees of Compostela municipal treasurer’s office underwent polygraph examination conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation-7 yesterday.

The lie detector test was part of the ongoing investigation into the burglary of the municipal treasurer’s office in August this year.

Municipal treasurer Cleofe Gonzaga and her three subordinates went to NBI-7 yesterday for the polygraph examination.

Gonzaga disregarded the inside job angle and pointed out that they were not responsible for the missing P66,000.

She claimed that the employees assigned in the treasurer’s office are all regular so there is no reason for them to mess with their jobs.

The polygraph examination will be done in three days – four people will undergo each day so as not to paralyze the operation at the municipal hall.

Compostela police are still looking for those responsible for the missing money, which was apparently stolen from the vault.

Earlier this year, a series of burglaries victimizing municipal halls rocked different towns of Cebu. — (FREEMAN)
