CEBU, Philippines - Garbage vehicles parked inside the compound of Tisa Dos Elementary School in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City has allegedly caused disturbance among the students due to the foul smell, prompting some parents to complain.
A resident of Barangay Tisa sent a text message to The Freeman on Friday about the school being utilized as parking area for the barangay’s garbage truck, which might also allegedly pose risk to the students’ health.
Tisa Barangay Captain Philip Zafra admitted to having the garbage truck parked inside the school compound, saying they do not have enough parking space in the barangay hall.
According to Zafra, the barangay and school officials have agreed to the matter.
City Health Officer Dr. Daisy Villa, meanwhile, assured that she will send her sanitary health inspector to check the place tomorrow.
(FREEMAN)
