Man “hacked” to death

CEBU, Philippines - A 27-year-old man, who was believed to have been hacked to death, was found near the road in Barangay Kabalaasnan, Dumanjug town past 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

Junrey Dinglasa, of Barangay Kabalaasnan, sustained five hack wounds.

Police Officer 1 Dave Faunillan, desk officer, said the victim was last seen around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was very drunk on Tuesday afternoon and got irked when he went home.

Irene Dinglasa, the victim’s sister told police investigators that he left the house after that.

The following morning he was found dead and naked by their neighbors who called for police assistance.

When police officers arrived at the crime scene, they found that the victim sustained two hack wounds to his back, one on his butt and one in his shoulder that might have caused for his death.

Police investigators said that the assailant is still unidentified since no witnesses showed up.

Faunillan added that the place is secluded and if the incident happened at night, nobody might have seen the crime.

The police advised the victim’s family for an autopsy but his family refused.

Police investigators are investigating the incident to determine the identity of the suspect.  (FREEMAN)
