LBC management disappoints police

CEBU, Philippines - The management of LBC outlets has disappointed the police for not cooperating in the investigation of the series of robbery incidents.

Cebu Provincial Police Office director, Senior Superintendent Noel Gillamac, said the management is not submitting footages of the close-circuit television camera as part of their investigation.

Gillamac said both outlets in Libertad, Bogo City and in Poblacion  East, Moalboal are apparently giving the police a hard time in acquiring copies of the footages.

“I encourage them to fully coordinate kay so far there was no CCTV footage turned over to the chief of police kay I let them cooperate with the LBC management,” Gillamac said.

Inspector Edgar Labe, Moalboal police chief, told The FREEMAN that they have been asking for the copy of the CCTV footage but the management reportedly deleted the file.

“Gahapon (Sunday) ra mi ga-sige og pangayo ang giingon magpaabot mi sa IT nila pero pag-abot sa IT wa gyud sila ga-inform unya pabuhaton pa mi’g request…unya gi-delete na kuno ang file maayo lang og naa to sila’y back-up copy,” Labe said in a phone interview.

Labe admitted he was disappointed because they want to solve the case but there was no cooperation from the LBC management.

“Nasagmuyo mi nga naningkamot mi unya hasta ang file gi-delete nila og dali-dali,” Labe said.

The same thing also happened in the LBC-Bogo City case, in which until now police still do not have a copy of the CCTV footage.

Chief Insp. Hermano Mallari, Bogo City police chief, also failed to acquire CCTV footage from the LBC management.

Both LBC outlets were robbed by unidentified robbers on weekends. The robbers, who did not wear bonnets, divested P31,000 from LBC-Moalboal and P70,000 from LBC-Bogo City.

Gillamac clarified the robbery incidents cannot be considered alarming as the LBC outlets were the only targets.

“The management was also warned before but mao gihapon wala’y security guard,” Gillamac said. (FREEMAN)
