CEBU, Philippines - A 44-year-old father is facing a criminal complaint before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office for killing his daughter’s live-in partner.
The Cebu City Police Office filed the complaint for homicide against Nilo Ferrer, resident of San Jose Village, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City. Ferrer, a security guard, shot dead Jericho Principe, 24, last Saturday after a heated argument.
Principe reportedly went to the suspect’s house to talk to his live-in partner, Marinel. But the suspect did not allow his daughter to see the victim.
Principe then reportedly forced his way into the house despite the suspect’s plea for him to leave.
Ferrer was forced to pull the trigger and hit Principe on the left side of his body. He was rushed to Cebu City Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.
Ferrer was later arrested in Barangay Guadalupe and police confiscated from him a .38 revolver he allegedly used in the incident.
Ferrer claimed he and his wife decided to keep their daughter away from Principe after the victim maltreated her. He said his daughter would return often to their house with bruises. (FREEMAN)
