CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office has indicted a son of a police officer before the court for allegedly shooting two people at a benefit dance in Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.
Assistant City Prosecutor Maria Theresa Casiño held a 17-year-old boy for trial after the latter opted not to file counter-affidavit to negate the allegations filed against him before their office.
She recommended P40,000 bail for frustrated homicide and P24,000 for attempted murder for his temporary liberty.
The incident happened on Feb. 15, 2014 at around 12:50 a.m.
The 17-year-old boy was positively identified by witnesses who allegedly shot Ronnel Seraga, 17 and Johannie Celerio, 20. Seraga was hit in the head while Celero was hit in the foot.
Reportedly, the accused was turned over by his father to the Carbon Police Station.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old boy was earlier claimed that he was beaten up by Cebu City Councilor Gerardo Carillo last year.
According to the in-charge of the criminal records, the accused has yet to post bail for his temporary liberty. —/GMR (FREEMAN)
