CEBU, Philippines - The Commission on Elections is asking the help of the barangay officials in the distribution of the voters’ identification cards.
Comelec-7 director Timie Lambino said his office recently received volumes of voters ID from Manila comprising the old and new registered voters. Lambino said they need the help of the barangay officials for its effective distribution.
Cebu City north district election officer, Lawyer Marchel Sarno, said they have started coordinating with the different barangays to sort out the list of voters for posting at the barangay hall. The voters can check on the list to be posted at the barangay hall if their names are on the list they can claim their voter’s ID at the barangay hall.
Sarno said the issuance of the Comelec ID was delayed because the printing was done in Manila. Sarno has also advised the public to visit the Comelec website at www.comelec.gov.ph to check if their ID is already available for release.— (FREEMAN)
